Diabetic kidney disease, light micrograph

Light micrograph of glomeruli in a kidney with diabetic nephropathy, or kidney disease caused by diabetes. Diabetic disease in the kidneys often forms characteristic nodules (the round pink structures) in glomeruli of the affected kidneys. Two such glomeruli are seen in this image, one on the left side and another on the right side. Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 200x when printed at 10 cm
