Louis XIV, ceremonial bedroom, Chinese porcelain, Chateau de Chambord, Loire Valley, France. The bedchamber most important room in the royal apartment

Louis XIV, ceremonial bedroom, Chinese porcelain, Chateau de Chambord, Loire Valley, France. The bedchamber most important room in the royal apartment, Lois XIV's bed was no doubt set on platform with a canopy overhead. As the sovereign's privet space, it was placed behind a balustrade, while the rest of the room was accessible to the family and the courtiers whose attendance was authorised for the 'getting up' and 'going to bed' ceremonies. In the 18th century, Stanislaw Leszczynski, and subsequently the count of Saxony, also used this room sa a bedroom.
