A recruit with Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, helps perform a log drill at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 22. If one recruit failed to put the amount of effort needed, the rest of the group had to pick up the slack. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Kilo Company is scheduled to graduate March 16.
