Mini car factory. Newly-built Mini being quality tested at BMW's Plant Oxford site, Cowley, England, UK. This plant runs for 22 hours a day, 7 days a week and a completed car rolls off the production line every 60 seconds. There are only ever 60 members of staff tending and observing the robots on the production floor during each shift. Here, a laser scanning device is being used to match a production line vehicle with the original CAD (computer-aided design) drawing (on screen) and dimensions to ensure the cars meet the exact specifications.
