Two cased silver ear cornets or 'vibraphones' for improving hearing. These ear insets would be placed in the ear canal and their hollow 'sound chamber' was believed to amplify the sound to aid hearing. Although they served the purpose of a stent, widening narrow ear canals, the effectiveness of such devices for the amplification of sound was questionable and today they are often considered to be 'quack' medical devices. These date from 1900, England.
