Such has bwndone in the case of the subject of this sketch. HISTORY OF THE GREAT JOHN RIESSBECK. who is county auditor of Stark couuty, N. Eiessbeck is a native of Germany, andwas born near Nuremberg, September 5,1861. His father, Thomas Riessbeck, was ablacksmith by trade, but also followed theoccupation of a farmer. His mothers maid-en name was Barbara Kamm. The educa-tional training of our subject was limited toan attendance at the common school until histwelfth year. He emigrated to the UnitedStates in 18G4, and located in Pittsburg, to Newark, Ohio, in 18C9; and toMarathon county, Wis., in 1871. Located inDakota March 17, 1883—engaged in farmingand stock raising until 1891, when he tookhold of a restaurant at Dickinson. In 1886,he was elected county assessor and held thatoffice for two years. He was elected countytreasurer in 1894, and served in this office forfour years. In
