During Parrish's 45 days deployed in support of the Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA)-led Hurricane Maria / Hurricane Irma response and recovery effort, Parrish managed Corps maintenance and repair support to non-federal generators operating in Puerto Rico until the facilities they supplied with power can have reliable electricity from the permanent grid restored. The Corps of Engineers leads Emergency Support Function 3, Civil Works and Engineering, for FEMA during federal responses to declared disasters and emergencies. The RCO in Puerto Rico is managing and completing FEMA mission assignments for temporary power, temporary roofing, debris and critical public facilities. He is a resident of Yrisarri, NM.
