This unique plant floats on the water by means of its curious inflated leaf-stalks, which resemble bladders or balloons filled with air. The beautiful feathery blue roots grow downward in the water in a mass. The plant forms a lovely rosette of its curious, shining green leaves, and sends up spikes of exquisite flowers, resembling in form a spike of hyacinth bloom. Each flower is as large as or larger than a silver dollar, and in color a beautiful soft, lilac-rose, sparkling as if cov- ered with diamond dust. The upper petal, which is the largest, has a metallic blue blotch in the center, and in the center of that a small, deep, golden yellow spot. 15 cts. TRADESCANTIA. (WANDERING JEW.) Fine for hanging-baskets, vases, etc. Easily "grown if given plenty of water. Multicolor. Leaves beautifully striped with white, crimson and olive-green; the plant sometimes sports. 10 cts. Zet>rina.
