Nu Jiang River Valley, Yunnan, China

The Nu Jiang valley in China is on the border with Burma. 'Nu' means Angry in Chinese. The Nu Jiang ( Angry River ) is one of the biggest white water rivers in the world. The minority Nu and Lisu people live on the river banks and cross the river using series of aerial cable ways stretched across the river. The steep river banks are terraced with rice paddys and sweetcorn fields.
