In 1869 Dr. Snively reorgan-ized the Health Board of Pittsburg, and served asits medical officer until 1884. Since 1874 he hasbeen one of the Staff Physicians of the \\esternPennsylvania Hospital, and in 1896 assisted in UNIVERSITIES AND THEIR SONS 117 organizing, in connection with tlie Hospital, theWestern Pennsyh-ania Medical College, now theMedical Department of the Western University ofPennsylvania, where he holds the position of Profes-. sor of Clinical Medicine. Professor Snively is amember of the Allegheny County Medical Society,the Pennsylvania State Medical Society, the .Ameri-can Medical Society, and he was a member of theMott Medical Club from 1869 to 1886, when itceased to exist, most of its members being takeninto the Medical School.
