Henry assisted by his girl friend Ez, from Oxford makes a stand in Little Plumpton as protestors gather to demonstrate against the start of Fracking operations for Shale Gas at the Caudrilla Exploration site. Fracking is due to commence after the last legal challenge to prevent operations failed at the Supreme Court, clearing the way for start of high pressure fluid cracking of the Bowland Shale. Ernest and Es (Esmeralda), both from Oxford, surprised Police guarding the Fracking site by arriving at 5am on the 15th October in a modified white Transit type van. The roof had been cut away and a framework of two ladders were erected inside the protruding through the roof space and supporting a long wooden base which was then occupied by Ernest lying full length on the contraption. When Police, (well into the afternoon) erected scaffolding and sent a trained officer to bring him down, he securing himself to the device with two bicycle C locks. One locked around his neck prevented the officer taking further action because of safety concerns. Henry cut out after an incredible 12 hours of resistance
