Mid Wales, UK, 19 May 2013. As the moon rises, a crow harasses a Red Kite (Milvus milvus) as it hunts for prey in the mid Wales hills. Proactive conservation measures have seen a resurgence in the numbers of or Red Kites. It was saved from national extinction by one of the world's longest running protection programmes, and has now been successfully re-introduced to England and Scotland. It is an Amber List species because of its historical decline.
