One ounce for 100 feet of drill. 851 Savoy, Dreer's Round-seeded. An early and hardy spinach, with large broad leaves, heavily crimped and curled, and of a rich, glossy, dark green. A very desirable sort for spring and fall sowing, always being reliable and sure to produce large healthy growth. We offer a special strain which is very fine. For a Summer Spinach to follow this we would advise sowing our Improved Long Standing. Pkt., 10 cts.; oz., 15 cts.; \ lb., 25 cts.; lb., 60 cts. 853 Thick-leaf, or Viroflay. A heavy cropping spring or fall variety bearing very large smooth leaves, measuring up to 10 inches in length and 8 inches wide. Plants measure 24 to 30 inches across and well repay liberal manuring. Plants are very compact with numerous leaves of fine texture, deepest green color, heavily crimped, thick, fleshy leaves on very short stems, good quality, and 'stands' for a long time before shooting to seed.
