City Railway, Twin City Lines,was noted briefly in the ELECTRICRailway Journal for May 4, willtake office on or about May 20. is a native of New York fifteen years previous to 1904,when he came to St. Paul, he was en-gaged in civil engineering work, muni-cipal, state and railroad. He acted ascity engineer of Poughkeepsie, N. Y.,for several years and was an assistantengineer under the State engineer ofNew York State engaged in the en-largement of the Erie Canal and Statehighways. He was identified with thelocation and construction of the Troy& Sand Lake Electric Railway and also. G. O. HOUSE with the change in motive power onPoughkeepsie City Railway from horsesto electricity. In 1904 Mr. House wentto St. Paul as the representative ofEastern capitalists promoting the pub-lic utility corporation now known asthe Northern States Power helped to obtain the necessaryfranchises and directed the installa-tion of steam and electric 1909 Mr. House performed specialwork, directing the installation of large,electrically operated coal docks for theNorth Western Fuel Company at Su-perior, Wis., including 13,000-volt trol-ley lines and all auxiliary 1912 Mr. House, as general super-intendent, has reorganized and read-justed the business methods and equip-ment of the St. Paul Water Depart-ment. His administration has gainedthe confidence and approval of thegeneral public in St. Paul and demon-strated his ability as a technical-busi-ness executive.
