STS-41, Astronaut with Arriflex, 1990


Astronaut Robert Cabana, pilot on mission STS-41, preparing to use an Arriflex cine camera on the mid-deck of Shuttle Discovery. The Arriflex cine camera was just one of many pieces of photographic equipment carried on the Shuttle missions. Launched on the 5th of October, 1990, the primary objective of this flight was to deploy the Ulysses solar exploration probe. The crew returned safely on the 9th of that month.
