House at 49 Bankside, Southwark, London, England
This house on Bankside is traditionally reputed to have been lived in by Sir Christopher Wren while overseeing the building of St Paul's Cathedral on the other side of the river. However, the house was not built until 1710 when Wren was 78 and the building of the cathedral was virtually complete. It is similarly unlikely that it was ever occupied by Catherine of Aragon or William Shakespeare, two other previously claimed residents.
