Beneath the shoulder the mountain falls away more gradually andpresents heavy beds of red clay. This type of occurrence is seen from nearGlen William to a point above Inglewood. The third type shows the sandstonecropping out in the side of the mountain, the outcrop being marked by littleor no projecting shoulder. To this type belong the exposures immediatelyaround the Forks of the Credit. Although somewhat thicker in places, the average of the sandstone isnot more than 12 feet.
