In January, 1803, hemarried Sallie, daughter of David Kennedy,and the following month removed to MountPleasant township, Wayne County, Pa., wherehe purchased one hundred acres of land, onwhich he built a log house and barn. Hecleared about forty acres of this tract and plant-ed a small orchard. This farm, at the present of Connecticut ; Asa A.; David K., who re-sides in Crawford County, Wis.; Sarah M.,who married Merrels Stephens, of Lebanontownship, and has resided in Illinois for fiftyyears past; Orrin, the subject of this memoir ;and Emeline, wife of Dr. Rodney Harmes, ofPleasant Mount. To provide for so large a family, AndrewLester and his wife were under the necessity ofexercising industry and economy.
