Blacksmith forges at the National Slate Museum, Llanberis, housed within the Victorian (1870) workshops complex built by the Dinorwic Quarries Company. Machinery was powered by wheels, belts and shafts driven by a waterwheel. Dinorwic Quarries finally closed down in 1969. Museum run by The National Museums and Galleries of Wales. The Dinorwig Slate Quarry Mountain Landscape is part of The Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales which became the UK's 32nd UNESCO World Heritage Site on 28 July 2021.
