Along the upper border are seen the splenicvessels ; passing down behind the body, but in front of thethird part of the duodenum are the superior mesenteric ves-sels. The portal vein and common bile duct, with thepancreatic duct joining it at the second portion of the duo-denum, are seen behind the head of the pancreas. In Fig. VI. the heart and great vessels are exposed. Theheart is large and the arch of the aorta rather dilated; thiscondition is probably due, partly to the age of the subject,and partly to some overdistention from the wax mass.
