The Old Civil Registry (1534-1537) in Renaissance style in Bruges, Belgium

This photo : The Old Civil Registry, situated at the Burg Square, was built between 1534 and 1537 in Renaissance style. The original decorative statues were smashed to pieces in 1792, but later renovated. The main statues at the Burg Square represent from left to right : Moses, Justice and Aaron flanked by the four cardinal virtues. The coat of arms below the statue of Lady Justice in the middle belong to Mary of Burgundy (13 February 1457 - 27 March 1482). There is also a statue of Count (Markgrave) Baldwin I Iron Arm (830s-879) with two ladies by his side topping the archway at the rear of the Old Civil Registry Archway.
