Ichino Kuba, a community relations specialist with Camp Kinser Camp Operations, collects pieces of plastic bags to be discarded properly at the Earth Day cleanup on Kaa-Mii-Jii, Okinawa, Japan, May 7, 2021. Hosted by the Single Marine Program, weekly cleanups allow service members the opportunity to maintain cleanliness on and off base, and to help strengthen the alliance to protect the force and keep the Okinawan environment clean. The cleanup, postponed twice due to inclement weather, was hosted to raise awareness for Earth Day. Kuba is a native of Kadena, Okinawa.
