The Twa Dugs public house in Ayr, Ayrshire has launched a referendum ale with special Yes and No cask ales going on sale. Bar owner Bob Shields collaborated with Ayr Brewing Company to launch the beer aiming to have a bit of fun ahead of the Scottish referendum in September. The idea started of as a pub joke but started growing as a result of the "Yes" and " No" discussions in the pub. Bob then contacted Anthony Valenti who came up with the two contrasting real ales and designed the pump badges.

Bar owner Bob Shields and Anthony Valenti of the Ayr Brewing Company got together to launch the beer aiming to have a bit of fun ahead of the Scottish referendum in September. The idea started of as a pub joke but started growing as a result of the "Yes" and " No" discussions in the pub. Bob then contacted Anthony Valenti who came up with the two contrasting real ales and designed the pump badges. The "yes " ale is an IPA (usually known as India Pale Ale) but has been changed to Independent Plae Ale whilst the "No" ale is a classic bitter, affectionaly nick named "Bitter together " All money from the sales is going to the Ayrshire Hospice Further information from Bob Shields ( The Twa Dugs) on 01292 618142 Anthony Valenti (The Ayr Brewing Company) on 078349 22142 Photo shows Anthony Valenti (centre) with family and YES & NO supporters outside the bar
