A Hellenistic Pilos type helmet,4th/3rd century Bronze skull of characteristic cone-shaped form with a dinstinctly offset rim and a reinforced edge. Pairs of holes for attaching the chinstrap on either side,the crown with one pierced hole for the attachment of a crest. Height 23 cm,weight 766 g. Brown-red to green patina,minor additions,the interior reinforced with fibreglass. Axel Guttmann Collection(no inventory number).
