Mention The Review when yon ?wr1t« WASHINGTON, D. C. The Market. Conditions in the Washington flower market last week showed a change for the better. The wholesalers and grow- ers were able to clean up more closely each day. The prices did not show an advance, although on an average the returns have been better. In some lines the supply has kept pace with the demand. Chrysanthemums have lost a part of their hold on the market. Prices, which have remained fair, now have a tendency to advance. The sale of violets has improved greatly and these are being marketed in larger quantities than heretofore, with singles the most popular. Cypri- pedium has made its appearance. Cat- tleyas have been scarce and the price has advanced slightly. The price of roses has gone up a lit- tle, although wholesalers and growers claim that they are not bringing their actual worth. They are beginning to sell better now that chrysanthemums are nearing an end. American Beauty roses liave been selling well, with the supply slightly in advance of the de- mand. The colored roses are showing up fine. Valley is scarce and
