Tyneham Ghost Village 1940'scoin operated public telephone box interior
Tyneham Village Dorset and 7000+ acres of surrounding countryside were commandeered in late 1943 by the War Office (now Ministry of Defence). 225 people were displaced and despite promises made at the time never returned to the village which remains within MoD firing ranges.
