All Soul's Day on 1November is celebrated all around Poland. On the preceeding day graves are attended to and decorated with flowers. On 1 November in memory of the ancestors candles are lit and vigils held for most of the day. It is a time to meet other members of the family and hold long conversations throughout the day.
