Recommended by such high authority as Prof. Bailey as "by all odds the best Japanese plum, ripening before ; One of the vigorous, upright growers; productive; fair size, vermilion red with handsome bloom; pleasant quality. Ripens after Willard, a week before Abundance. Aug. Simoni. (Apricot Plum.) Fruit bright red; flat; flesh apricot yellow, firm, of little value, only as a novelty. Sept. Satsuma. (Blood.) Large globular, with sharp point. Color, purple and red with blue bloom, flesh firm, juicy, dark red or blood color, fine quality; pit very small. Hardy and vigorous grower.
