The Basilica of St Sernin, Toulouse, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

The Basilica of St Sernin in the southern city of Toulouse, France. The Basilica is the former abbey church of the Abbey of St Sernin (or St Saturnin) and was constructed in the Romanesque style between 1080 and 1120. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1998 due to it's history as an important stop on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route to Santiago in Spain - a role the town has served since the 9th century, when Charlemagne donated several important relics to the church. The stone that killed Simon de Montfort in the siege of Tolouse in 1218 was thrown from the roof of the basilica.
