Outdoor art gallery with art made of reclaimed materials at the old Tempelhof train depot Natur-Park Schöneberger Südgelände Nature Park, Berlin
A Berlin nature reserve situated on a strip of land beteen two active railway routes. The Tempelhof train depot was originally located here but this fell into disuse after WW2 and nature took over. The land was donated by Deutsche Bahn in 1996 to be used as a nature reserve and trees and birds, trees and wildlife fill the spaces between old railway tracks. A rusty old water tower was saved during the makeover, an old engine shed is used for events and exhibitions and modern sculptures add a creative touch. A restored 1940's steam train stands on the old tracks.
