Charles Minthorn Murphy (1870-1950) also known as "Mile-a-Minute" Murphy, a cyclist and policeman who proposed the idea of chasing criminals in airplanes. Murphy is seated in a monoplane designed by Giuseppe Bellanca. He was the first man ever to ride a bicycle for one mile in less than a minute.
