The external parts of a cochlear implant hearing aid. The right hand device is the sound processor and fits behind the ear. It passes signals to the transmitter (white circular part) which is attached to the scalp. The transmitter sends the information to electrodes implanted in the cochlea of the inner ear. The electrical impulses from the cochlea are passed to the brain, allowing the person to hear.
