The foundations for Redcar's controversial 'Vertical Pier' begin to take shape along with the re-constructed sea defences. The location is the site of the former 'Leo's Public House' on Redcar Esplanade. The Regent Cinema, which was originally part of the more conventional Coatham Pier, is shown in the distance to the far right.
