Milky Way nebulae over the Himalayas. A dark nebula is a type of interstellar cloud that is so dense it obscures the light from objects behind it. The Milky Way is seen here in the constellation of Aquila, and includes the open star cluster IC 4756 and NGC 6633 (just above the Himalayan peak). The Milky Way is our galaxy seen from the inside, forming a band of stars and nebulae stretching across the sky. Photographed on 30 November 2015.
