EVERETT, Wash. (Aug. 26, 2013) A static display commemorating the women’s rights movement is seen as Judith Prince, president of the Everett branch of the American Association of University Women, speaks to Sailors and DoD civilians during the Women's Equality Day celebration on Naval Station Everett (NSE). The celebration was meant to commemorate the great strides that the country and Navy has taken in women’s equality. Today, 54,537 women serve in the Navy, comprising 17 percent of the force, and nearly 50,000 women serve across the Navy in a wide range of specialties as civilian employees.
