CALPELLA. Geography.—Calpella township is bounded on the north by Little Lakeand Round Valley townships; on the east by Lake county; on the south byUkiah and Anderson townships; and on the west by Big River boundary lines are very crooked, following the sinuosities of mountainchains and valleys. There are no streams of any importance in the town-ship, although the Russian river has its source in the mountains of thistownship. Topography.—This township presents very much the same topographicalfeatures of the other townships in Mendocino county, except, that possibly,the valleys are a little more extensive than in some of the others. TheRussian River valley, which passes up northward through the west center ofit, is quite broad and fertile. In the eastern portion of the township, arethe Redwood, Potter, Walker, and Coyote valley
