Busy shoppers passing City centre Christmas Homeless man in Fishergate Street, Preston, uK Claims are being made that some individuals found begging in the city centre claim benefits and have a place to live. A crackdown on antisocial begging has been launched although services available for homeless and vulnerable people do exist. The high sums that people donate to these people during Christmas week encourage them to continue to beg. During the day one donation of £100 was made by a passer-by and other shoppers left food & presents.
