The booth suggested a Gothiccloister, and produced the perfect bookish atmosphere. John Howell, importer and merchant of old and rare books, made thelargest exhibition of them ever shown at any exposition, and did it in an oldbook shop that looked as though it had been transplanted bodily from theLondon of Ben Jonsons day.
