I soon learnedthat one visit, nay many visits, to this Land of Wonder, was notsufficient for my purpose. Nevertheless I was privileged to journey throughout everyportion of the country and to study the people and conditions gen-erally. I may say, therefore, that I know Mexico far better thando those who have never been in the country, and those who havenever studied the people and every condit
