Ancient Egyptian stele of Kemes, 1790–1660 BC, 12-13th Dynasty, Abydos. Kunsthistorisches Muesum Vienna AS 112. Top left the archivist Kemes is shown seated at table. The offering formula to the right is addressed to the gods Geb and Osiris. In the lower register, Kemes’s wife and son are shown along with another couple. The way the offering table’s stand extends below the register line at the bottom of the stele is noteworthy
