Discovery docked with the International Space Station (ISS) on 27 February 2011, during mission STS-133. Part of Japan's Kibo module is at upper left. The Canadian-built Dextre manipulator (SPDM) is at upper centre. In Discovery's payload bay is the Leonardo Permanent Multipurpose Module (PMM). Discovery was part of NASA's Space Shuttle program. It flew 39 missions over a period of 26 years, being retired from service in March 2011. STS-133 was its final mission, taking place from 24 February to 9 March 2011.
