HA It has been only a few years since the first of the Spencer Sweet Peas was intro- duced to American gardeners, but they have in that short time so completely overshadowed the old-fashioned, or Grandiflora varieties, that the latter are almost forgotten. The flowers of this wonderful new type are of extraordinary size, with beautifully waved standards and wide-spreading wings, round and open, often measuring 2 inches or more across. A large percentage bear four of these immense blossoms to the stem, and the stems are long and strong, making them of exceptional value for cutting.
