Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Todd M. Parisi, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit sergeant major, receives a cover from French Marine Lt. Col. Rene Debuire during a commemoration ceremony for the Battle of Bazeilles, a widely honored battle in France’s history, with Marines and Sailors with the 26th MEU and the Sailors with the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group, in the ward room of the USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), at sea, Aug. 31, 2013. The 26th MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force currently assigned to the 5th Fleet area of responsibility aboard the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group serving as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious operations across the full range of military operations.
