A Turkish troop succeeded, in the year 1837, in, capturing one ofthe most formidable chiefs among the Koords. His age was barely thirty,his figure was tall and finely formed; so handsome a Koord had neverbefore fallen into the hands of the Osmanlees. He was led into the pre-sence of Hafiz Pacha, and, had he been a vizier, he could not have beentreated with more flattering attention by the generalissimo of the Sultansforces.
