An immature Martial Eagle learning to hunt by throwing a stick up in the air and then trying to catch it.
A very large crested eagle up to 35 inches in length with large broad wings and short tail the adult bird is dark brown on it's head, upperparts and breast while the under parts are white with small dark spots. Immature birds have the face and underparts white and take up to five years to reach the adult plumage colouring This avian predator feeds mainly on large birds geese and storks and medium sized mammals. Nest for this species as large as befits the size of this bird with a leafy lining, Martial Eagles are wide spread through out Africa in open grassland and bush alike.
