Mayflower 400 launches with illuminate a free light festival in Plymouth opening today 28 November .this is the start of a major year long public art and cultural programme to commemorate the 400 year anniversary of The Mayflower setting sail from Plymouth for the new world of America .Events will be taking place in 13 destinations across the UK and internationally in the Netherlands and the USA . A year long four nation commemoration programme , involving the UK ,USA,Netherlands and Wampanoag nations will commemorate and explore the 400 year anniversary of the journey .
