Solar-powered rubbish bin. Situated on Paignton seafront, this trial of a state-of-the-art solar powered litter bin was the first by any UK council. The BigBelly is an automatic compacting refuse bin which compacts the contents thus reducing the number of times it has to be emptied. Since the bin is therefore rarely full it doesn't have overspill problems causing associated littering problems. A solar panel is situated on the top of the bin.
