This node is found close to the middle of the descending colon, imbedded in a small quantity of fat. It is somewhat roimd in shape, 2 mm. in diameter and 1 nrni. thick. Lymph from the descending colon drains into this node. The lymphoglandula colicae transversalis is located close to the middle of the transverse colon. It is round in shape, 5 mm. in diameter and 2 mm. in thickness. The lymphatics of the transverse colon end in it and the efferent vessels usually reach the common mesenteric node. 3. Lymphoglandula colicae ascendentis. This is found close to where the ascending joins the transverse colon. It is 4 mm. long, 3 mm. wide, 3 mm. thick and is not rarely accompanied by other very small glands close to it. The majority of the afferent vessels draining into this node are from the ascending colon but a few vessels from the transverse colon also end here. Lymph from it is received into the common mesenteric Please note that these images are extracted from scanned page images that may have been digitally enhanced for readability - coloration and appearance of these illustrations may not perfectly resemble the original Bardeen, C
