Costume of Dorlis, Muscadin in the fashion of 1796. He wears a small bicorn cocked hat, long jacket with huge lapels and cuffs, high-collar shirt, green cravat, breeches, garters, and grey gloves. He carries a stick. Handcoloured etching by Auguste Etienne Guillaumot Jr. from Costumes of the Directory, Rouquette, Paris, 1875. The etchings were made from designs by Eugene Lacoste and Draner after prints of the era 1795-99. The costumes are from theatre productions Merveilleuses and Pres Saint-Gervais by Victorien Sardou.
