Marie Antoinette in Muslin dress (replica) - after Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun - anonymous This painting is a non autograph replica of a portrait of Marie-Antoinette, Queen of France, painted by Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun and exhibited for the first time at the 1783 Salon de Paris. Later Marie-Antoinette gave it as a present to her friend Louise of Hesse-Darmstadt, Grand Duchess of Hesse and by Rhine; the original 1783 painting is still in possession of Louise's heirs in Wolfgarten Castle (Hesse, Germany).
